Freddi Carlip has, for years, provided a valuable service to runners and triathletes through her Runner's Gazette and in so many other ways. She has a passion for the sport and the people who take part, as is so evident in RG. This paper features interviews, features, poetry, personal reflections, lots of race results, and an extensive list of upcoming events. Here you can find a variety of voices: of both the elites and of the citizen runners like myself. It is a running club on paper, a friendly oasis in print for runners to come together for laughter, for reminiscing, for comfort, and for advice/coaching (from the experts who share their wisdom).

On a personal note, I have contributed writing to RG over the years, and I remain grateful for Freddi's encouragement, professionalism--and warmth.

I hope Freddi continues to publish this wonderful paper for many years to come.
