Joslyn Closes Out 2004 with
Big Win at Shelter 5K

BLOOMSBURG, PA--There were 224 finishers at the Run for Shelter 5K on December 31. C. Fred Joslyn led the way, breaking the old course record by 35 seconds with his time of 15:28. The top four runners all finished under the previous best mark of 16:03. Lisa Haas took the women’s race crown in 17:44, good for 15th overall. RG’s editor Freddi Carlip was on hand for the New Year’s Eve festivities, finishing the race in 31:09 and taking her first age-group win since turning 60.

The proceeds of the race benefit the Women’s Center of Bloomsburg. The race started and finished at the YMCA.
