Rabbits Yannone and Herold Win 4-Mile Ramble BY PHIL CARDUCCI HUDSON, NY--Despite April 22 being a cold, wet day, Zach Yannone (25) of Wynantskill, NY captured his second Rabbit Ramble title in three years. Yannone, the 1998 winner, posted the second best time ever recorded (21:13) on the hilly 4-mile course. The record was set in 1996 by Rick Miller of Albany, NY in 20:59. Second place went to Carlos Rivera of Springfield, MA in 22:00, while high school standout, Tyson Evensen from West Sand Lake, NY ran 22:23 for third place. Amy Herold of Waterford, NY, one of the top female runners in the Capital Region, posted a 25:29 time to take top honors on the female side. Herold left the field behind, winning by over two minutes over second place finisher, Bonnie Nussbickel of LaGrangeville, NY. Nussbickel was clocked in 27:32, with Skidmore College runner, Christine Scheele of Saratoga Springs, NY, taking third in 27:59.
