A Big Event at the Big House BY TROOPER MATT BURROWS USP, LEWISBURG, PA--Great blues music by the Dirty Bird Blues Band and free massages was the perfect combination for runners to unwind after the Law Enforcement Camp Cadet 5K. Stephen Thompson was the winner on May 12 with a time of 15:52. Shannon Wright claimed top womens honors in 20:25. The race took place on the grounds of the infamous Big House penitentiary. In addition to music and massages, participants enjoyed postrace amenities including random prizes, shirts, food, and drink. Sponsors for the event included Applebees, Subway, Papa Johns, District Attorneys Pete Johnson and Mike Sholley, the Lewisburg Hotel, and many others. Proceeds from the event benefit Camp Cadet.
