Half-Marathon BY PHIL WOLGEMUTH CHAMBERSBURG, PA--Two hundred seventy-nine runners finished the 23rd annual Chambersburg Half-Marathon on Saturday, March 16 at the Chambersburg Area Middle School. Runners from all over the East Coast ran in memory of Bob Eyer, Sr., who lost his life while running near his Fayetteville home in October 2001. Susan Gray (Greencastle, PA) established a new female course record when she won the first female overall award with a time of 1:28:31. The former female course record of 1:30:46 was established by Ann Sick (Millville, PA) in 2001. Rick Roundtree (Washington, DC), a former Chambersburg resident, won the first male overall award with a time of 1:14:57. Scott Sick (Millville, PA) won the first Masters male award with a time of 1:25:50 and Bonnie Stoeckl (Pequea, PA) won the first female Masters award with a time of 1:43:42. The event was organized by the Chambersburg Road Runners Club, with assistance from more than 50 local volunteers.
